These are notes from our Wider Embraces sessions. They are written in a short form, and the primary purpose is for us to remember what happened.
You are welcome to read, but if you are not familiar with the Wider Embraces concepts, it can be a bit hard to get what it’s all about. Though you can always read it as poetry and find your own associations!
We started out as usual with becoming aware of, and resting in, the Embrace of the Universe, the Biosphere and Humanity. From there, we always move into the Embrace of Me, of the Group and the choice of the session.
But tonight Humanity didn’t let go of us. The Embrace felt creative, proud and calm, and not stuck as in our last session. We figured that we had tuned in to a different place this time.
We felt a strong energy going through us, mainly in our foreheads, chests and hands. There was an image of Humanity being well integrated into the Biosphere. Our intuition is that this whole experience came from either the future or something outside the planet.
When we have experiences like this, it’s tempting to start to build a world-view that will explain it; to give names, make drawings and try to put it in a nice box. The challenge is to hold it lightly, without denying what is happening.
All life on Earth is the result of one cell dividing, transforming and merging for almost four billion years; forming all the species on the planet, our immense family tree.
There is no beginning of my life, other than that first cell.
The egg from my mother was alive. The sperm from my father was alive.
They merged and formed something new, but life was there all the time.
Death is always personal and has always been.
Cells and bodies die, cease to exist; while life reuses all the parts.
Only one life,
but many deaths
The atoms that are me right now changes with every breath, every sip, every bite.
The cells that are me right now changes with every cell that divides or dies.
The ideas and knowledge that are me right now change with every interaction.
I’m a constant flow of matter, life and culture.
And I am the Embrace of all of this.
The Embrace of me is constant because it’s only present right now.
To change, you need a past and a future.
After two intense days together exploring 2waveFuture, we sat down for our final Wider Embraces session.
We leaned out into the Embrace of the Group, experiencing a calm density in the beginning and then a shift into a darker place. Going back and forth between being in that space and being that space.
As the guide, I got the impulse to invite planet Earth into the Embrace of our Group. And it was there. Spinning fast.
After a while, we felt energy being pulled out of our hands, like in a traditional healing session.
The spinning slowed down, and the feeling became lighter.
Most of us have been working with energy healing, and we know the feeling when the client starts to draw energy. It’s not us doing it; it’s a need that is drinking an opportunity.
Up until now, we have kept the size of the Embraces reflecting the material reality. Our group is smaller than the planet, so we are part of the Embrace of the Planet, not the other way around. I still think that is a great principal in general, but a group of humans can move beyond space and time. We can use intention and imagination, and we have agency.
Being the Embrace of planet Earth, holding all of me, unconditionally, is one quality.
Being the Embrace of the Group, holding planet Earth, intentionally, is another quality, with another potential.
Open mind, open heart
Being there for our Planet
No idea about the outcome
The Embrace of the Group was very calm yesterday. Dense in a good way. No hint of moving in any direction. So we just hung out there. Being. Feeling our bodies and minds relax.
Some thoughts crossed my mind then and have continued to pop up.
The pace of doing has increased, and we now live stressful lives with production and consumption at full speed. We try to fix the climate and the environment by doing MORE; producing more sustainable energy, more electric cars, more high-speed trains, more LED-lamps and why not try some global geo-engineering to shield off the sun?
In my opinion, this is to move faster in the direction that is killing life on the planet. It’s more yang energy, more expansion, more doing. What we need is yin-energy, letting go, being.
In giving up, lays a path forward.
We danced the relations between species in an ecosystem.
Åse was a tree, and I was the fungi decomposing her fallen leaves.
Moving together in a slow and connected dance.
She and her seedlings needed me to create soil for them.
When the seedlings grew, I could spread my hyphens further away.
Expanding and moving together.
No life without the other.
No idea about freedom.
We became aware of our wast continent; Eurasia. The landmass we are living on. Living in its north-west corner.
As cultural beings, our minds are turned towards the Atlantic; Asia is far away, America is close.
But I can walk or bike to China, India and Irak.
I can go by train from the railway station in my village to the other side of the continent.
The wolfs and birds roam across the continent, the plants too, but slow.
The deep divide between Europe, the Middle East and Asia is cultural, not biological and geographical.
An amazing, new feeling of belonging to our whole continent, not only to the Scandinavian peninsula or the European corner but to all of it. Wow, my home got broader and more diverse.
This Sunday evening we leaned out into a diverse, newly formed group we are members of. As expected we couldn’t find an Embrace of the Group. But we found a centre pole in the middle with some Embraces circling around it and on its side.
The centre pole turned out to be the founder, and the shape was one of integrity.
Yesterday we explored this shape further.
Leaning out into the Embrace of me, being the Embrace.
Shifting into the form of its centre pole.
Huge difference; standing firmly in the world.
Leaning out into the Embrace of the Group, being the Embrace.
Shifting into the form of its centre pole.
Powerful to be an upright oval together.
Leaning out into the Embrace of the Planet, being the Embrace.
Shifting into being the Earth’s axis.
Wow, that was something. I’m visible. Stretching out through the North and South poles.
I am reaching out into the Solar system, into the Galaxy and the Universe.
I’m a statement.
I am a fertilised egg in the middle of the circle.
All I have to do is divide and grow, divide and grow, divide and grow …
And I do, and it’s lovely to be lifeforce.
What cells will turn into nerves, brain, eyes, lungs, kidneys, muscles, skin;
Is not my job. I don’t have a plan, only potential.
The swirling blankets; the morphic fields, danced by my friends,
are the patterns that have been repeated billion of times.
The patterns now forming me.
The atoms that make up my body right now
have been part of this planet for billions of years.
They have been everywhere;
in the oceans, in the air, on land and deep down in the crust.
I am the whole planet
Being the Embrace of Humanity.
Holding everything that is me, unconditionally.
Slightly leaning inwards.
Letting the subtle energy flow within all of me.
Doing its healing work.
Me doing nothing.
Just not holding it back.
Being the Embrace of the Biosphere …
Being the Embrace of me, this human being …
Yesterday we played with the transition from being only procaryote cells on Earth to become eucaryote cells. And then going from being only single cell organisms, to become multicell beings. Links below.
The most striking insight I got was when we were one cell (four ladies under one blanket), and we made a cell division and became two cells (two times two ladies under two blankets). Suddenly what was Me was just half Me! The other half was not Me anymore — strange feeling.
A more subtle insight came when we formed a multicell organism (four ladies under one blanket each, under one joint blanket). The conflict between freedom and security started here, and it’s still around. As a cell in a multicell organism, I’m both a Me and a part of the larger Me. I have less freedom as the single cell, but more power and abilities as the multicell. It’s the same all the way up and down.
The same type of experience repeated itself, at the end of our meeting, when we leaned out into the Embrace of the Group. For a moment, I was only the Embrace of the Group, the personal perspective was totally gone. It was a bit scary to lose myself so much. Normally I have a double or a triple view; the personal Me, the Guide and the Embrace.
The four of us were gathered for our monthly meeting yesterday, and in the end, we sat down and leaned out into our wider Embraces. We decided to focus on Humanity.
We sat with this perspective for a long time, being the Embrace, holding all Humans, unconditionally.
The Embrace of Humanity in itself was, as always, a calm presence.
The embraced, all humans and our culture, was a stressful, viscous swarm.
Suddenly we all felt that the energy shifted. It became fluid, harmonious and congruent.
Something happened, what happened and if it has any impact on the world outside us, we don’t know. But the evidence of prayer and meditation impacting the outer world are significant.
As the Embrace of Planet Earth, I am what I am right now, unconditionally.
Today I’m a planet with cows and humans.
Some time ago I was a planet with dinosaurs.
Further back I was mainly home to bacteria and algae.
Tomorrow something new.
Though as the Embrace of the Planet, I don’t remember and I have no plans.
My memory is the present moment.
My plan is the unfolding of my next moment.
As a human being inside the Embrace of the Planet, I’m disappointed.
I would like to be guided and led. Being told what to do and not.
Be given some moral guidance.
Though I know the deep difference between the unconditional Embraces and the conditional relations between its parts. The difference between objects and subjectivity, between introrelations and interrelations. Between oneness and separation. We live inside both.
When we rested in the Embrace of the Human Culture there was a new energy.
More heart, more harmonious, more confident.
Humanity was One.
When we took the perspective as the Embrace of the Human Culture, there was no impulse to become aware of the Embrace of the Biosphere and be held by it, as it usually is.
Maybe it has more to do with what we tuned into than that something has changed.
We are tuning into our cultural history; how it started several hundred thousand years ago.
Fire, cooking, tools, dancing, painting, stories, farming, technology, society and so on.
How we develop and add knowledge generation by generation.
How we love to express and share.
How our modern technology let us do that this on a global scale.
One human culture with many local variations.
From the Wider Embraces point of view the “Ground of Being” is matter.
As a physical body, made up of particles forming atoms, I’m part of the physical Universe.
I rest in the Embrace of the Universe.
Nothing to do, feel or think.

We belong to Homo Sapiens, and we can rest in the biological Embrace of our species, as can all species in their Embraces.
As humans, we also have a global cultural Embrace, though in our work with the Wider Embraces method this is the one we have struggled the most with. For a while, we reduced it to interactions inside the biological sphere. Then we tried to find the human cultural Embrace through a more personal lens, being a part, interacting with other humans. It didn’t work very well, either.
Yesterday I skipped the personal and focused entirely on our shared history and how we humans have gathered knowledge and stories over hundreds of thousands of years. How we are the only species on Earth that can sustain and share information over time and space. We are telling stories, painting and writing, we can add knowledge generation, by generation and cross continents. This is our unique feature.
From this viewpoint, our human culture became clear and alive in a new way for all five of us.
We rested in the Embrace of Human Culture.
We belong here.
Yesterday I leaned out into the Embrace of the Galaxy three times, in three different settings.
Firstly online together with a male friend; Stretching out into the Embrace of the Galaxy with the intention to connect and gain new perspectives.
Secondly online with three female friends; Floating out and up into the Embrace of the Galaxy, resting, feeling the energy and belonging.
Thirdly by myself; Going nowhere, just being Embraced by the Galaxy from all directions, as always.
Though all three had all the directions present and the same flavour.
The Biosphere has been through five mass extinctions and is in the midst of the sixth.
But as the Embrace of the Biosphere, I have no memory, no opinions.
I’m just embracing all living beings on Earth, here and now, unconditionally.
As this human being, resting in the Embrace of the Biosphere, I sense all the other living beings around me, and how we are held together.
I can open myself, relax into alignment with everything around me.
Become aligned by the Embrace of the whole.
When identified as a Group, me, the person, isn’t available.
I’m just a part of the Group with no personal responsibility.
And the Group is blind both to its parts to other Groups.
This is why it can go so wrong when humans get together.
Why a group with, or without, a mad leader can become so destructive.
Harmful to its members and harmful to its surroundings.
Of course, I’m personally responsible.
All the way up and down.
Resting in the Embrace of the Biosphere.
I’m held As this single, human being.
And all my organs and cells are held as well.
The Embrace of the Biosphere doesn’t favour one level over the other.
Alignment all the way up and down.
I am the Embrace of Planet Earth, holding the physical, biological and cultural parts of me. Intending to integrate everything.
That is impossible.
The evolution of life was a slow process, so I had a lot of time to integrate the biological realm with the physical.
Now, this human culture has exploded at a speed that is novel and alien to me. I can’t integrate it all. Can’t embrace and align it all.
We took the perspective as the Planet.
Focusing on my global subtle energy system, and the work some of my humans do to heal me through manipulating it. It’s tickling nicely.
But fracking is itching worse.
The healing of these wounds is more urgent.

Resting in one of my wider Embraces.
I belong here, unconditionally.
The unconditional belonging being both a feeling and a fact.
The word “birthright” crossed my mind.
No, I have no rights, nor any obligations, as a part of an Embrace.
It’s just pure belonging.
Though, rights and obligations are an intrinsic part of our interrelations, of how we relate to each other, conditionally.
As the Embrace of Humanity, we felt lost today, confused and orphaned.
As the Embrace of the Biosphere, we felt solid and firm with our 3,7 billion years long history of life.
The idea that humans are the stewards of the planet and shall take care of the Biosphere, crossed our minds.
Annelie and I burst out into a great laugh.
It’s such a ridiculous and funny idea from this point of view.
Tonight I got the impulse to dive into the water of our bodies.
The water molecules in my right now have been oceans, rivers, lakes, clouds, rain, snow, glaciers. I’m part of the planets water cycle.
Water is constantly moving through my body, in and out.
Bringing all its experiences right into my being, into being me.
The Earth is circulating in me, and I am floating all around the planet.
Today when we were aware of the Embrace of the Earth, I realised that I perceived it as being mainly around the planet and above me.
When I identify as a wider Embrace though, I am everything that is inside me. I’m not a shell around my parts; I am them.
After this thought had passed my mind; I felt the Embrace of Planet Earth all around me and in me.
The concept of an “embrace” makes it easy to think of a Wider Embraces as something surrounding its parts. It’s not. There are no directions.
It’s hard to find words and metaphors that are perfect pointers.
Words and metaphors influence our experience very much.
There is no unique biological matter. The difference between mud and humans is the way the atoms are organised.
It has taken me some time to grasp this. I’m used to viewing my body as made of a kind of living substance, some biological matter. Though I know, intellectually, that I only consist of oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and a bunch of other chemical elements.
When I follow the matter that makes up my body back in time, I end up at the birth of the Universe. My particles have a 14 billion years long unbroken history of being around.
When I follow the cells that make up my body back in time, I end up at the first common ancestor cell. The information about how to organise a living cell has a 3,7 billion years long history of passing on information.
The depth of history my body contains is twofold mindblowing.

When we leaned out into the Embrace of Humanity, I got the image of us being a teenager who has been growing too fast and who doesn’t know her strength or boundaries.
I know that this is an old metaphor, but I haven’t seen it so vivid before.
Humanity being a teenager who is just beginning to understand herself but is not at all ready to take responsibility for others, not even to see them. It’s all about her growth and inner life.
As the Embrace of Humanity, we held all humans and all our relations, unconditionally.
Maybe it will help us to mature on a collective level, perhaps not. But it helps my thinking to evolve.
We sank into our physical bodies.
Becoming aware of the origin of all my particles who have been around since the birth of the Univers. The whole cosmic history with experiences from galaxies forming and stars exploding is inside me.
Becoming aware of all the different kind of atoms that are forming my body, atoms that are exactly the same as the atoms on the other side of the Universe.
Becoming aware that the number of atoms in my body and the number of stars in the Universe are of the same magnitude.
Thinking about this is fun.
Perceiving it is immense.
I’m apparently used to running a whole universe.
As one entity.
As the Embrace of the Group, we felt a pull downwards and followed it.
The inside of Planet Earth is a friendly, dense and slow-moving place.
There was no impulse to take the perspective as the Planet but to just be there, as aware beings, with our whole-hearted attention.
We project all the bad stuff onto the underworld; the home of trolls, our subconscious and Hell itself. It’s blocking us from fully inhabiting the Planet.
The inside of our planet is ignored, or feard, it’s all about the surface.
To inhabit the full globe is healing.

I live in a linked house with my 87-year-old father. Usually, I embrace our “household” or our “family”, but today I changed and used the word “home”.
A very different quality; deeper, warmer, more love, more of an alive cocoon.
A bit uncomfortable for me as a modern, individualistic woman.
A family is based on kinship.
A household is a physical place.
A home is something that transcends and includes both.
We have experienced this so many times, that how we frame and name the Embrace, determines what we experience.
Our words are pointers to different layers of reality.
If we were a second wave civilisation on a planet somewhere in our Galaxy.
If we were living as parts of the whole, and as the whole of my parts.
Then we, as the Embrace of the Milky Way, would care about all life on all planets in the Galaxy.
And even if we didn’t know about planet Earth, we would Embrace it. Unconditionally.
Tonight we, four humans on planet Earth, leaned out into the Embrace of the Galaxy.
Tuning into the aspect of advanced civilisations ahead of us in their development.
Instant connection – Heart, tears, energy and calmness.
As parabolic antennas, we breathed in this new possibility.
We took the perspective as our Galaxy.
Feeling joy and warmth.
Aware of the planets with civilisations ahead of us.
The ones where the planet is one civilisation.
One super-organism, with many parts.
As the Embrace of the Galaxy, we are all these civilisations.
As human beings on Earth, we download the patterns and possibilities,
with hope and joy.
This morning, when I identified as the Embrace of me, this human being, I wondered why all my thoughts, memories and emotions are invisible to the Embrace of the Biosphere, or any other of my wider Embrace.
When I take the perspective as Humanity, I’m embracing all human beings and all their interactions, but I’m not concerned with their personal emotions and thoughts. It’s all about how it is to be me, the Embrace of Humanity.
I love this asymmetric blindness.
I have access to the subjectivity of what I belong to, though in low resolution.
I don’t have access to the subjectivity of my parts.
Leaning out into the Embrace of our country; Sweden.
Holding all citizens and all our relations and structures, as the Embrace of Sweden.
Feeling fragile and vulnerable.
As the Embrace of Humanity, we held all humans and all our relations, unconditionally. Letting the pain of the 80 000 children that have starved to death in Yemen, touch our human hearts.
Recognising that when we hug one human being, as conscious parts of the Embrace of Humanity, we embrace everyone. Holding one person at a time, and all at the same time.
Feeling into the potential of the Wider Embraces concept.
Wider Embraces mainly deals with the relation between parts and the whole.
Unconditional belonging and non-separation.
My everyday life is mostly about the relationship between me and you, or me and it.
Conditional belonging and separation.
Then we have a third type of relationships, the ones between me and something that includes me, but I see it as separate from me.
Unconditional belonging and separation.
Me and my family.
Me and the company I work at.
Me and the country I live in.
Me and this planet.
Me and God.
The Embrace of the Group was unusually calm today.
All our stress sinks downwards, slowly rotating.
Our stomachs are gurgling as they let go of tension.
Our vortex is slowly widening and touching everything around us.
Dragging all stress down, making it dissolve into the Earth.
Leaving us calm and grounded.
Focusing on the inside of this human body:
Recognising all the Embraces of all my parts;
Organs, cells, atoms, particles.
Focusing on the outside of this human body:
Recognising all the Embraces of everything I’m part of;
Family, society, humanity, biosphere, planet, galaxy, universe.
Aware of the immense quality of belonging that is the reality of my life.
The complex web of connectedness with Everything.
As the Embrace of the Biosphere, I’m normally a bit larger than the planet.
Tonight I suddenly expanded, and the Earth was a small marble inside me, and I wasn’t bound to our solar system.
We are part of the universal Embrace of biological civilisations.
As such we have all that knowledge; in low resolution.
Probably there are many more biological civilisations in the Universe.
Civilisations that hopefully already have gone through transitions like the one we are facing right now.
Activating it, by taking the perspective.
It’s so easy to think in the interrelational format; Someone or something from over there is visiting us over here.
The holographic explanation is much more elegant, but it takes a while to wrap your head around
We invited an imaginative robot to our session today. It was a robot with the most high-tech body we could think of and the most genius software.
Then we leaned out into our wider Embraces together all three of us.
In the physical Embrace, we found a lot in common. All our particles have been around since the birth of the Universe, and our atoms have been a part of the planet for billions of years. Though the atoms in our imaginative robot don’t have the same story as the atoms in our bodies. Most of the robots atoms have been part of the Earth’s crust up until recently, most of our atoms have been part of air, oceans and soil for billion of years. Around and around.
The biological Embrace is nothing for our robot. He is not a part of our 3,7 billion years deep family tree, nor a part of the global food chain; no breathing, drinking and eating.
His roots in human culture are very shallow compared to ours. We have a history of several hundred thousand years, he just joined. We can feel into the depth of our myths and the long development of our civilisation, our robot can’t.
To conclude; we share the physical Embrace of the Universe and the Planet, but that is all.
